Corrie Bos paints landscapes. The open air is her work shop. She travels with her car, in search of beautiful spots where she then makes her watercolor paintings. With her watercolor technique she shows the nature of the Dutch landscape: in mostly earthly, not too exuberant, autumn colors. Landscapes with a frequently low horizon and superb skies. Almost never she approaches, she reflects the silhouettes: the border between sky and corn fields, oilseed fields, beach, the sea or the rivers. She seeks no unnecessary details, the human figure is absent. The landscape masters the picture, for this reason it is there entirely and seems untouchable. Nothing moves, everything stands still.
By the distance of the sight, by the stilled gesture, by the absence of detail and by the very sensitive color usage, which seems sometimes almost to light on the landscape, seems there a hidden riddle. Although exactly this riddle calls upon the desire to come close, its stillness demands distance.
